The '39 H the Super H replaced in May of '68 had 10-38 GY tires on it, new size would be 11.2X38 and they were tiny, and like HILLMAN says, it needed the smaller tires to make up for the lack of HP. About '69 Dad bought a styled '40 jd B that had 9-38 tires and they were REALLY tiny.

The single mark is the first one you see on the pulley while rotating the crankshaft; it indicates the limit of timing advance when the engine is running. (timing advance means the spark occurs earlier hence the mark is placed on the pully BEFORE TOP DEAD CENTER) The next set of marks are the actual TDC (top dead center) marks.As far as operation the H is simular to the M just not as big or powerful. A strong running Super C will out-pull an H, Super H or even a Super M with broken rings, burned valves, spun bearings, chipped transmission gears, etc. So consider that unless you're looking for a project.
