I own and rebuild lots of older MEC loaders and have and use many of the older "fixed" bars. The 12-0 bar will still throw 18 to 18.5gr. of Red Dot and 18.5 to 19gr. of Green Dot with 1&1/8oz. of shot. I use these in old MEC 300 and 400 model loaders with Fed. paper hulls.

If this is the tube style I think it is, it is a very early style feeder for a MEC 650. Who did you buy it from?? If they had it as a feeder for a 600 jr. you should be able to return it to them because of miss labeling. The only style feeder I know of that works on a 600 jr. is the one in the above post with the instruction sheet link. Steve

Here's what MEC says about the current 650N model, "The MEC 650N does not resize except as a separate operation." They go on to suggest a Supersizer. I have a pair of older MEC 650's - one 12 ga. one 20 ga. Like the 650N, as hulls rotate thru the stations, they're held in place by a carrier. There's no way for a steel ring resizer to work on a 650.

Started shotshell reloading recently. Using MEC 600 Jr in 12 ga. started with Red Dot and im getting inconsistent powder charges. If I trust without checking I get random light loads that won't cycle the 2 SA shotguns I'm testing with. When I catch them I have a powder trickle dispenser nearby and make the adjustment. GJB02. When I first started loading, my MEC 600 Jr. came with a 12 gauge "O" Bar. This dropped 18.5 gr of Red Dot and 11/8 oz. of shot. This was the standard load of the day. Some of the older 600's didn't have the Pro Check, but that's easily added and I think it helps speed things up to some extent. Basically, a 600 is a 600, as far as what it does and how it operates. I bent the decapping bolt after I found out it was not in straight. The ez prime would not let it sit straight, had to add a washer to let it sit correctly.
