Homemade surface drive mud motor
We have decided that we want to design something that will perform well with a surface drive outboard (pro drive, gator tail, mud buddy). After doing some research it seems that there are a few "requirements" to have these hulls perform well with this type of power source. 1.) 0-10 degree dead rise. 2.) approximately 15 degree transom angle. 3.)i wanted something that handles like a outboard , yet gets me into the really shallow stuff . costing me around 800 or so to build mine . including buying a vice , welder , grinder , cut off saw , metal , bearings and prop and motor . The motor is a 15 HP horizontal shaft Lifan motor .
