44 reviews of Monahans Sandhills State Park "Wow! I can only imagine what the first explorers thought when they saw this formation out in the middle of the West Texas desert. What used to be a prehistoric sea bed is now 600 acres of sand dunes, completely different from the landscape around it.Gorgeous sunset. Our site (22) was very private - we backed up to a dune. We didn't have to unhitch (our 25 ft trailer barely fit). The park is right off I-20 so it was a perfect stop for us. $27 includes $15 camping fee, plus $4 per adult entry fee. Gravel campsites, with no shade. Visited May 2021.
