Madden starters not playing in playoffs
I’m in year two and starting about halfway through the season, my 2nd string RB started playing every down. Then when he was tired, it was my 3rd string taking over. My starting RB wasn’t injured, didn’t retire, or anything like that. He was still on the roster and 1st on the depth chart. The game just wouldn’t let me use him.Just posted about the same thing. With this new update there seems to be some glitch where certain players just disappear during games. They’ll be on the depth chart but aren’t playing. Last year people said it had something to do with fatigue, but the only time I saw it was in the playoffs.

Since the update I got through a whole season & it seemed in the conference championship/super bowl the AI teams had some pretty fatigued players, but it wasn’t as bad as it used to be at all. Go to franchise settings & turn progressive fatigue off, then gameplay settings and fatigue slider down to zero. Last go to manage staff -> auto sub: turn ALL “sub out” sliders all the way to 0 so your starters aren’t subbed out. Last step is what fixed it for me. Reply.
Starters don't stay in game in franchise mode. Fam why do my starters play one snap in the playoffs then go to the bench for the rest of the game like tell me …So I finally got 24. Go into auto subs. Change auto subs from 60/80 to 60/65. My hypothesis was that over worked players (who would mostly be your star players ... Go to “Manage Staff,” then “Auto Sub,” then change all “Sub out” values to 0. Turn off progressive fatigue. If you have it on with full padded practices eventually during the season your players will become to fatigue and not play. This will also happen to Cpu players as well. During weekly strategy workout your backups or split reps.

During your weekly training, change the settings to half pads and backups getting majority of the reps. I think it’s a glitch, if not then Madden just has a real shit system. But if your team is too fatigued, your star players like WRs and RB will get subbed out after like 1 play. Someone might have a better suggestion in terms of tinkering ...I’ve been playing Franchise Mode in Madden 24. I typically simulate straight to the playoffs. However, as soon as I play the Full Game in the Wild Card Weekend, my starters are all exhausted and have the red battery next to their name.
