8 posts · Joined 2022. #11 · Jan 21, 2022. What causes the exhaust to go into the oil return and melt it. We replaced the turbo on a 2012 cruze eco that the impeller was just rattling due to buildup. We put a new turbo in, and it immediately melted the oil return and had exhaust coming out the tube.24 posts · Joined 2017. #1 · Mar 11, 2019. So for the last couple months I've been smelling something burning when I start my car. Took it to the dealer on Friday and they said that my oil cooler was leaking oil onto my converter and it's a 1000$ fix. Got a second opinion from Midas and they said my car oil cooler isn't leaking.

My cruze is leaking oil in the area below the oil filter housing. I cannot figure out where it is coming from. The oil filter cap is tight and not leaking. Yes the viscosity will be different but none will be different enough to trigger a low oil / oil pressure warning. So instead of letting the customer know to add (if required) 1 more qt of oil.
