John deere gator clutch problems
I purchased the new clutch from Deere to get running immediately and sent the old one to the Clutch Doctor to have it fixed. I never had any issue with the replacement part so I put the fixed original primary into storage just in case. Fast forward and some jerk stole my XUV550 and its trailer. I took the insurance money and upgraded to a 590E.Sep 22, 2014 · XUV 550 hard shifting. My 550 has 41 hours on it and has been back to JD for shifting problems. JD did a fine job, put the new clutch kit in it. It was fine for the next 30 hours, now it is really, really hard to shift. I have to shut it off to get it from F to R or back from R to F.

I've got an older 4x2 Gator that runs great, except for the fact that gear engagement (forward or reverse) usually results in a crunching or grinding in the gearbox, not always, but 90% of the time. Once in gear, it doesn't tend to want to creep and as rpm's rise the clutch engages cleanly and smoothly.
