It's a real organization. There are scholarships available if you qualify. There are other member benefits and perks which I don't need or use, so I can't speak to them. I do enjoy the additional leadership courses, networking events, and speaker broadcasts though. I probably log into the site once every few months to see what's new.The cover of the letter says. They try to lure you in by making the "invitation" seem prestigious and symbolic of your merit as a student. The truth is that every WGU student is invited. I personally think that it's similar to badoopshadoop's idea. I wouldn't pay for any of the benefits, but if you treat it like a cosmetic thing for resumes and graduation then pay away if you think that's worth it.
