1. Re: Best places to stay. 14 years ago. Save. Kalispell and Whitefish are the closest to the park. Even then it is 30-45 minutes to West Glacier. Both have restaurants, small shops. I prefer Whitefish. That said, I would spend a couple of nights only in either place and then move inside the park.
