The Multiethnic Introduction to Engineering (MITE) program was developed, in the summer of 1975, at Purdue University. Originally a two-week program, MITE is now a four-week, two-credit college simulation program modeled after the Freshman Engineering Academic Boot Camp that focuses on college readiness with a strong emphasis on math and engineering projects.
