Purdue minority engineering program
The Multiethnic Introduction to Engineering (MITE) program was developed, in the summer of 1975, at Purdue University. Originally a two-week program, MITE is now a four-week, two-credit college simulation program modeled after the Freshman Engineering Academic Boot Camp that focuses on college readiness with a strong emphasis on math and engineering projects. Kaylee Smith is a senior in the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering studying Computer Engineering. She chose to spend the Fall 2023 semester studying abroad at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) in Madrid, Spain.
