You are better off doing it on Legend difficulty. Going through the Lost Sector on Legendary yields better results than master considering you can go through it faster than you would on Master. It is restricted to DLC owned and heavily weighted, but not guaranteed to drop un-acquired exotics first. Duplicate drops can happen. Note the Shadowkeep campaign exotics are an exception and will be excluded from ALL loot pools until obtained from finishing the campaign. Lots of great advice in this thread.
