_{Bill, a few weeks ago I hit a gun show looking for a 30 Gen 3 and ended up with a used 30SF Gen 3. A friend from work has a 30S. We went to the range and we each shot two magazines from both the 30SF and 30S and I felt the recoil with Winchester White Box range ammo was a little more noticeable in the 30S I was a bit surprised 3 oz. was really much if any difference.This holster is not ambidextrous, so use caution when ordering. 6. The 36 is going to be significantly thinner than the 30 or 30SF. However, front to backstrap dimension of the grip of the 36 will be the same as the front to backstrap dimension of the 30 but longer than that of the 30SF. Had a 30; too fat. Have a 36 and really like it.
