When I arrived at the hospital, two days later, I was 100% effaced and 5cm dilated. You can walk around for weeks fully effaced and slightly dilated. Took a nap to rest up for birth. At 7 pm started having contractions with no real pattern which continued all night. By 7 am I noticed them getting closer together.
